Location: Augusta

Department: Augusta Child Advocacy Center (CAC)

Reports To: Forensic Services Director

Position Type: Full-Time (Tuesday to Friday 8am-6pm)

Job Summary: The Forensic Interviewer provides forensic interviews to clients of the Child Advocacy Center. This requires collaboration with the community's legal, medical, and social services systems. The Child Advocacy Center Director supervises the Forensic Interviewer at their respective site.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Forensic duties


o Interview child victims of sexual abuse and severe physical abuse. Coordinate the recording and written case records for each interview.


o Document all communication, demographic and statistical information in computer-based case tracking system; maintain equipment, recorded interviews and case files.


o Appear in court as a witness.


o Participate in the Multidisciplinary Case Review Team to staff cases.


o Other duties as assigned.

2. Administrative


o Participate in forensic interview peer reviews.

o Present and speak on behalf of Child Enrichment, Inc at community events.

o Attend workshops, seminars, continuing education, etc. for professional development.

o Maintain licensure at the level required for professional practice if applicable.

3. Communication and Coordination:

  • Serve as a liaison between clients, families, and CAC staff to ensure clear communication and coordination of services.
  • Respond to inquiries from clients and families, providing information and assistance as needed.
  • Collaborate with other CAC team members to ensure seamless service delivery

    4. Data Management:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in the CAC database.
    • Ensure confidentiality and security of all client information.
    • Assist in data collection and analysis for program evaluation and improvement.
Qualifications:
• Master's degree preferred in Social Work, Psychology, Education or other related field; Bachelor's degree required. Current licensure in Georgia is preferred.
• Experience in the field of child abuse.
• Ability to collaborate with other professionals and form positive, helping relationships with children and their families.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), experience with database management, and computer literacy to maintain statistical data and program files.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor, with a commitment to supporting children and families in crisis.
Working Conditions:
  • Primarily works in an office setting within the Child Advocacy Center.
  • May require occasional evening or weekend work to accommodate client needs.
  • Requires the ability to sit for extended periods and interact with clients and staff in person.
