Are you an organized and detail-oriented professional with a passion for safeguarding the integrity of critical systems? Are you ready to take on a role where your expertise will make a critical impact? The Multi-Domain Solutions (MDS) division is seeking a skilled and experienced Generator Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, installation, and testing of generator systems, including associated electrical and mechanical components. This role requires a hands-on professional with a strong background in power generation systems and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Primary Responsibilities :
Perform routine maintenance on generators, including oil changes, filter replacements, coolant service, and battery testing.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of generator systems.
Install, configure, and test generators and automatic transfer switches (ATS).
Conduct load bank testing and system performance evaluations.
Diagnose fault codes and perform control panel diagnostics.
Inspect fuel systems and ensure compliance with all environmental and safety regulations.
Maintain accurate records of service work, inspections, and repairs.
Respond to emergency service calls and perform after-hours repairs as required.
Coordinate with electricians, utility providers, and project managers during installations and upgrades.
Basic Qualifications
TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required
High school diploma or equivalent.
3–5 years of relevant experience in automotive or equipment maintenance and repair.
Completion of a formal training program in automotive technology or a related field.
Proven experience in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of a variety of vehicles and machinery (e.g., automobiles, motorcycles, trucks, forklifts, buses).
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with:
Engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
Electrical systems, including wiring, starters, alternators, and lighting systems.
Diagnostic tools such as motor analyzers, pressure gauges, and chassis charts.
Routine maintenance procedures (e.g., brake adjustments, valve grinding, wheel alignments).
Proficiency in using standard automotive hand and power tools.
Ability to interpret technical manuals and follow detailed repair procedures.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues.
Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and providing training or guidance to less experienced staff.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with or certifications in the following specialized areas:
Cooling Systems – Installation and maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration units.
Energy Efficiency – Implementation of systems to reduce fuel or energy consumption.
Hydraulics and Pneumatics – Installation, maintenance, and repair of fluid and air-powered systems.
Preventive and Routine Maintenance – Establishing and executing preventive maintenance schedules.
Failure Analysis – Root cause investigation of equipment or system breakdowns.
Project Management – Experience leading technical projects, including planning and execution.
Quality Control (QC) – Experience performing inspections to ensure regulatory and quality compliance.
Safety Assurance – Ensuring workplace and equipment safety in line with regulations.
Technical Specifications – Ability to read, interpret, and develop detailed technical documents.
Strong troubleshooting skills with a broad understanding of interconnected mechanical and electronic systems.
Demonstrated ability to lead or mentor team members and coordinate operations impacting job area outcomes.
Valid driver’s license and certifications relevant to specific equipment types or state/local requirements
