The Smart Diagnostics team at Rivian supports the development and deployment of Rivians Smart Diagnostics AI system suite of fullstack products that drives in-vehicle and remote diagnostics using Generative AI and ML. Our systems are used by internal teams and Rivian vehicle owners alike.

We operate highly scalable infrastructure for serving and orchestrating LLMs, Vector Stores, and agents. This role will be focused on delivering quality software and backend services, enhancing the utility of GenAI frameworks, and exploring the bleeding edge of this new technology.

• Design and develop production full-stack products including frontend and backend distributed systems and micro-services at scale.
• Be thoughtful about the customer experience and limitations of modern AI systems.
• Willing to support on-call rotation as needed for Production systems.

• Bachelor's degree in CS or any STEM discipline.
• Proficiency in Python, Node.js or Golang.
• Proficiency developing API Frameworks (GraphQL preferred, RESTful API pattern).
• Proficiency developing frontend components and single page applications using technologies like typescript, React (or similar) with a keen eye for design.
• Proficiency with cloud infrastructures (AWS preferred).
• Familiarity working with AWS Lambdas, Docker and Kubernetes or other serverless and container-based architectures.
• Experience with Amazon EKS.
• Solid understanding of databases (Postgres, RDS, DynamoDB, etc.).
• Great understanding of caching, security and privacy considerations.
• Unit testing and test-driven development experience.
• Systematic troubleshooting and root cause analysis experience.
• Knowledge of Agile Development of Accessible Software Tools.
• Strong understanding of OOPs.

• Masters Degree in related field.
• Experience developing SaaS products.
• Experience building fullstack IoT products.
• Experience with data visualization.
• Prior automotive experience is a plus.
• Experience with native apps (mobile or desktop) a plus.

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: 149,600 to 183,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
